Today we started our long train trip to Severobajkalsk:
Moskva 12:50 - Severobajkalsk 9:35 (4 days later, Moscow time)

Our tickets, which we bought in Austria, where quite surprising for the Russian train conductors. But the let us board the train, alltough there was no single word of Russian written on the tickets...


1st day on the train (Moskva - Nishnij Novgorod):

On the first day we travelled via Vladimir to Nishnij Novgorod and then during the night contiued to Kirov and Perm...


Thursday 2005-07-28

2nd day on the train (Perm - Tjumen):

During the trip it was never boring. Spending four days on the train gives a new time-experience - you feel as you had all the time of the world. No stress, just relaxing and being lazy, watching the landscape, talking with other passengers, etc. etc.


Friday 2005-07-29

3rd day on the train (Barabinsk - Tajga):

About every 4-5 hours the train has a longer stop of about 20 minutes. All other stop are quite short (usually 2 minutes).
During the longer stops it's possible to get off and have a walk on the platform or buy food and drinks from the "babushkas" or at kiosks.

Sunday 2005-07-30

4th day on the train (Krasnoyarsk - Bratsk):

At Tajshet the train left the Transsiberian railway line and continued it's trip using the Baikal-Amur-line.



Very important in such a remote villages: Satellite-TV!

5th day on the train (Lena/Ust-Kut - Severobajkalsk):
